Privacy policy

A safety website should not ask for the thing you are protecting.

This policy explains what Stop & Verify does and does not collect when you use stopandverify.com. It will be updated before any advertising or analytics technology is introduced.

Scope

Who this policy covers.

This policy applies to the Stop & Verify website at stopandverify.com. Stop & Verify is an independent educational project. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@stopandverify.com.

The website is designed for general audiences and is not intended to collect information from children or to provide an account-based service to anyone.

Checklist answers

Your selections remain on your device.

The 60-second checklist runs in browser memory. Your selections are used only to display the result on the page. Stop & Verify does not send those selections to a database, associate them with an identity or retain them after the page is closed or refreshed.

We deliberately do not provide fields for suspicious links, messages, screenshots, files, passwords, identity documents or payment details.

Website delivery and security

Limited technical data is processed to serve the site.

The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and security events to deliver traffic, prevent abuse and maintain reliability.

Stop & Verify does not currently use an analytics service, create user profiles or attempt to identify visitors from this technical data. Cloudflare’s handling of information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Email correspondence

Contact is optional and should remain non-sensitive.

If you email us, the message, sender address and related delivery information will be processed by the email providers involved. We may retain correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain correction records, meet legal obligations or protect the website from abuse.

Do not send passwords, financial details, identity documents, private conversations, suspicious files or other confidential material. See the contact page for safer guidance.

Cookies and advertising

No advertising cookies are active in the current version.

Stop & Verify does not currently display advertising and has not installed Google AdSense, an analytics platform or a behavioural tracking system.

If advertising is introduced, this policy and the website’s consent controls will be updated first. Google and other advertising vendors may then use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to deliver, measure and personalise advertising where permitted. Visitors will be given legally required choices before optional advertising technology is used.

Learn how Google uses information from partner sites in Google’s published explanation and manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Your choices and rights

You can ask about information linked to your email contact.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion, or to object to or restrict certain uses of personal information. Because the checklist has no account or stored answer history, we generally cannot associate checklist activity with a particular person.

Privacy requests can be sent to contact@stopandverify.com. We may need limited information to verify and complete a request, but we will not ask for a password or payment information.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected here.

This policy may change as the website develops, laws evolve or new service providers are introduced. The date at the top will be updated when material changes are published. Advertising or analytics will not be introduced while this page still states that they are absent.
